Gingerbread House Tips and a Pepperkaker Gingerbread Recipe

Ruth Johnson’s Pepperkaker Gingerbread
Butter, room temperature 2 sticks
Sugar 2 cp
Eggs, room temperature 2 ea
Molasses 1 cp
A.P. Flour 6 cp
Baking Soda 2 tsp
Ground Ginger 1 tsp
Cloves 2 tsp
Cinnamon 2 tsp
Orange Juice 4 Tbs
Orange Zest 1 ea
Salt 21 tsp
Oven Temperature: 325
1. Sift together the dry ingredients: A.P. flour, baking soda, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
2. Cream butter and sugar together.
3. Add eggs and molasses.
4. Add sifted dry ingredients, orange juice, and orange zest.
5. Form into two blocks and rest overnight.
